Abstract

Historiography devoted to Jesuit schools in New Spain and their destiny after the Jesuits expulsion has gone through different stages since 1930 to the present. In order to analyze what has been produced, the article shows a general overview of how historiography has treated New Spain’s Jesuit schools and their destiny after the expulsion. Likewise, it ends with an analysis of current historiographical trends and why it is an increasingly rich field to explore.
