Las municipalidades y los procesos de desamortización. Los terrenos del Santo (Buenos Aires, siglo XIX)

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the ways in which disentailment policies were implemented in the lands known as terrenos del Santo, located in some towns in the province of Buenos Aires. From a multisecular perspective, it focuses on the incidence of the actors, particularly the nineteenth-century municipalities, overshadowed in the studies despite their protagonism, and the influence of the interrelationship between the Catholic Church and the provincial state of Buenos Aires in the second half of the 19th century.
