Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to highlight a monographic series published by the publishing house Vda. de C. Bouret in Paris and Mexico, between 1908 and 1912, which include reviews of Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Chiapas, Veracruz and Baja California. These reviews allow us to know historical data of these states and to observe the importance of the geography, statistics and anthropology in their discourses. It presents a concise biographical reference of the main authors: Rafael de Alba, Enrique Santibáñez, León Diguet, and Luis Pérez Milicua, apart from mentioning other works and setting them in their historical context. Besides, each monograph is characterized synthetically in regards to the information they provide, their structure, style, and other qualities in them.
