Propaganda y Guerra Fría: la campaña anticomunista en la prensa mexicana del medio siglo

Abstract

This article examins the anti-communist propaganda campaign published in the Mexican press during the early period of the Cold War, beginning from a preliminary review of Excélsior and El Universal, the principle newspapers of the era. From this perspective, the article analyzes the process of political displacement of the left and cardenismo and the strengthening of the most conservative trends in official politics, which found a source of ideological legitimacy in the discourse of combating communism.
